CrossRC EMO XL2 1/8 Brushless RTR 6x6 Scale Crawler
CrossRC EMO XL2 1/8 Brushless RTR 6×6 Scale Crawler
The CrossRC EMO XL2 “Big Mustang” combines a highly detailed four-door pickup body with a large-scale 6×6 crawler platform. Its three driven portal axles, long-wheelbase chassis and independently controlled differential locks provide the traction and stability required for technical crawling, steep climbs and demanding trail conditions.
This 2025 Brushless RTR version adds a reinforced drivetrain, updated third-axle suspension mounting and a Hobbywing Fusion 8IGHT brushless power system. A remote-selectable two-speed transmission and six-channel radio system give the driver direct control over the vehicle’s primary trail functions.
Scale Pickup Design
The XL2 features a detailed four-door pickup cab paired with an extended flatbed and rear protective structure. The full interior, roof rack, exterior accessories and integrated lighting system give the truck the appearance of a full-size 6×6 expedition or support vehicle.
Its long body measures 837 mm, giving the XL2 substantial trail presence while retaining the proportions and details expected from the CrossRC EMO X platform.
Three-Axle Traction
The 6×6 drivetrain distributes power through three portal axles. The 435 mm spacing between the front and middle axles provides a stable central platform, while the closely spaced 150 mm rear tandem section helps the truck maintain traction across rocks, ruts and loose terrain.
Front and rear differential locks can be controlled independently from the transmitter. The two rear axles operate together through the rear locking system, allowing the drivetrain to be adjusted for difficult terrain without stopping the vehicle.
Two-Speed Metal Drivetrain
A remote-selectable two-speed transmission provides low-range control for technical crawling and a faster gear for open trail sections.
The transmission uses metal gears, an aluminum CNC motor mount and a combination of machined and MIM-manufactured internal components. Four all-metal universal driveshafts transfer power through the extended 6×6 driveline, while an adjustable slipper clutch helps protect the drivetrain from sudden loads.
The updated 2025 axle-output design strengthens the drivetrain for demanding off-road use.
Brushless FOC Power
The Brushless RTR version is equipped with a Hobbywing QuicRun Fusion 8IGHT FOC system, combining the brushless motor and electronic speed controller in an integrated unit.
The system provides smooth low-speed response for controlled crawling while delivering the torque required to move the XL2’s large 1/8-scale chassis. It supports 2–4S LiPo batteries, allowing the power delivery to be matched to different driving conditions.
Heavy-Duty Suspension
The XL2 uses 7 mm 304 stainless-steel suspension links with reinforced rod ends. Large 21 mm CNC aluminum oil-filled shocks support the truck’s weight while allowing controlled axle movement across uneven terrain.
The third-axle suspension mount is reinforced with CNC-machined aluminum and composite-fibre material, improving strength while limiting unnecessary weight. ABEC-3 precision ball bearings help provide smooth drivetrain operation.
Ready to Run
The XL2 Brushless RTR arrives factory assembled with the Hobbywing brushless power system, steering servo, transmission-shifting servo, two differential-lock servos, lighting system, receiver and six-channel 2.4 GHz radio system installed.
A compatible 2–4S LiPo battery, charger and transmitter batteries are required separately.
